Snipe Hunt at Calamine Camp
Light from a Lantern casts eerie shadows in the dark woods as new visitors to mythical Camp Calamine are tricked by older children into hunting for the nonexistent snipe. South Pasadena’s entry was totally financed and built by the residents of the community. The base is a mixture of redwood bark and grass, while the rocks are covered with hundreds of pounds of seeds and dusty miller. The owl watching the activity from a perch in a tree is made of green spider mums, cattails, bird seeds, and green ti leaves.
